Let me first say that I think most forms of Christianity practice and worship are wonderful and I have personally received great things from them. I often wish Catholics were a bit more evangelical.

I was born and raised Catholic but like a lot of people strayed from the church. I was actually lead back to Christ through a "Born Again" denomination and considered most of them to be absolutely wonderful and inspiring. However, after several years of hearing how wrong Catholics were about things I began to study and research the Church.

After many years of study and searching, I did come to the conclusion that the Catholic Church is the only Church that has true Aposolic Succession. While I don't personally think you have to be Catholic to be saved, I do think if the truth presents itself you must follow it. You can not ignore it to follow something that is not full. That is why I returned to the Catholic Church. That, to me, is what the Catholic Church is: The Fullness of Gods Grace and Love for us.

I didn't start "Why Catholic" to offend or judge anyone. I am not here to tell anyone what they have to do to be saved, I leave that to God. However, I started "Why Catholic" to clear up the many confusions shared by Catholics and non Catholics alike.

There is a lot of misunderstanding about Catholic teaching and beliefs by non Catholics, and sadly many Catholics themselves do not understand or know what the Catholic position or teaching is, hence they are easily drawn away from the Church.

I enjoy discussing my faith with others and have found that it strengthens me.

If anyone would like more information about the Catholic Church and/or its Doctrine or has specific questions, I will do my best to answer them. I do have free resources available that answer many of the common questions about the church.
