Why Black Lives Matter Is More Than You Think

By now, everyone is familiar with the hashtag “BlackLivesMatter” less are familiar with the Black Lives Matter organization as a whole. Therefore, many may think the Black Lives Matter organization simply supports Black Lives and seeks to highlight racial discrimination. They may be surprised to learn that behind the name Black Lives Matter lies an organization that is about more than ending racial injustice. They promote a Marxist ideology, abortion, and homosexuality. According to the organization’s “What We Believe” section of their website:

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

We foster a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).

In the video below posted on Twitter cofounder Patrisse Cullors explicitly said that she and fellow BLM co-founder Alicia Garza, in particular, are “trained Marxists.”

Recently Bishop Mark J. Seitz became the first Catholic bishop to kneel in support of Black Lives Matter publicly. Indeed many Catholic Priests, Bishops, and Why Black Lives MatterChristians from other denominations have been joining with the Black Lives Matter protestors.

According to Jim Puzzanghera’s writing for the Los Angeles Times back in 2017, Black Lives Matter gets support from the Billionaire George Soros nonprofit group Open Society Foundations which also works to reduce the stigma of abortion and make getting abortions more accessible.

So why would a Catholic Bishop or any other self-professed Christian support the Black Lives Matter organization? Would they continue their support if they understood the organization’s true objectives?

Initially founded in 2013 by three black feminist women, as reporter Michael Voris notes in the video below Black lives Matter now enjoys a 62% favorability rating across America nearly double from just four years ago. The Church Militant report also highlights the close relationship between Black Lives Matter and Planned Parenthood. As we wrote here, in New York City, more black babies are killed in their mother’s womb than born alive.

Will Being Pro-Life Soon Be A Hate Crime In NY?

you cited your Catholic faith and said we should “stand with Pope Francis,” your advocacy of extreme abortion legislation is completely contrary to the teachings of our pope and our Church. “  continue reading the letter from Bishop Edward Scharfenberger

During a radio interview in 2018 discussing Conservative politics, Governor Cuomo said “Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves,” he said. “Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

What do you think? Did Governor Cuomo cross the line by saying anyone who supports traditional marriage or is against abortion is not welcome in New York?
