Catholics Are Wrong — Says Who?
Catholics hear it all the time. 
- “You worship Mary.”
- “The Pope isn’t biblical.”
- “Confession was invented by the Church.”
- “Christians are saved by faith alone.”
- “The Bible is the only authority Christians need.”
But before accepting the accusation that Catholics are wrong, there is a more fundamental question: Says who?
Based on my book Catholics Are Wrong — Says Who?, this presentation examines the question of authority that lies underneath so many Catholic-Protestant disagreements.
If two Christians both believe the Bible but reach opposite conclusions about baptism, salvation, the Eucharist, confession, Church authority, or Mary, simply saying “the Bible says” doesn’t solve the problem.
Someone still has to answer: Who has the authority to determine what the Bible means?
This talk offers Catholics a practical way to approach apologetics without memorizing hundreds of disconnected arguments.
Born Again: The Whole Story
What did Jesus mean when He told Nicodemus:
“Unless one is born of water and Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God”?
Many Christians have been taught that being “born again” refers primarily to a personal conversion experience or a moment of accepting Jesus as Savior.
But is that how the earliest Christians understood Christ’s words?
Based on my book Born Again: The Whole Story, this presentation examines John 3, baptism, salvation, the early Church, and the historical development of the modern “born again” interpretation.
Rather than beginning with a denominational conclusion and working backward, we ask a simpler question:
How would the Christians closest to the apostles have understood these words?

My OCIA 2.0 presentations are designed to supplement the work already being done by parish priests, deacons, catechists, and OCIA teams.
The goal is not to replace catechesis. It is to help participants understand the “why” behind what they are learning and give them an opportunity to ask the difficult questions they may be hesitant to raise in a traditional class.
More Than Winning an Argument
Catholic apologetics can easily become a contest over who has the better Bible verse.
That isn’t the point.
The purpose of apologetics is to remove obstacles to the truth, strengthen faith, and help people understand why the Catholic Church holds what it holds.
A Catholic who understands the faith is much better prepared to live it, explain it, and pass it on.
And sometimes one good question can accomplish more than twenty rehearsed answers.
